Real Man

Real man

Loving a woman secure and sweet

Giving peace and trust

No need to sweep me off my feet

Cuz these toes are grounded

I know who I am

Not looking for a savior

Just a

Real man

Pays his own bills

Owns his own crib

Not afraid to sleep at Mine

Cuz the power’s not just his

Equal in every way

Still he knows how to treat me right

Surprises unexpected

Kiss me soft throughout the night

A vision both we share

Supporting all my dreams

I stand firm by my real man

Grown beyond the squirm and scheme

A real man

True man

No lady looks but me

No hiding

Slying

Lying

Belonging feels so free

Forever and together

No fear to be alone

Real men don’t text

Y’all know how to use the phone

A heart wide open

No secrets to unlock

My real man

Knows his flaws with no excuses popping blocks

Priority on his list

No haste to stepping up

I give him all the same

Cuz a Real man

I ain’t be giving up

Calling all poets and storytellers

Come be part of one of the best festivals in Fairfield county. For those of you who love Soupstock, the team has created another great event called Riverfront Music Revival.

I am hosting the writers tent “Piece of mind” including featured performers, writing workshops and open mic. We are still looking for a small handful of performers for open mic as well as Slam Poets to compete for a cash prize. Contact email listed ASAP.

The Abyss

Pouring my insides out into your parched mountain brick

Flooded by searing slag splashing towards a wall made of steal

My finger dips lightly into the pool of the cool stream

leading to nowhere in the divots of the mind

Projecting ghosts and adorned with side smiles and bloodshot eyes

Expunging dreams left on the wrong side of the street

met with the rift of disappointment and dis-membership

Pieces of you fractured and integrated

back to the abyss entombed in obsidian monuments

left to an island unto itself

Donations

Accepting heartfelt donations of any amount. Deep appreciation and thank you for helping me keep the dream alive.
